The repair man came and was able to fix our A/C. WOW! Does it feel good to clean out the humidity and be comfortable again. My husband and I were talking, we don’t know how people survived the oppressive heat and humidity in decades gone by. We are fortunate to live in the times we do.
I’m painting this afternoon! YEA! I’ve got one piece in the kiln, starting the second now. With any luck at all, I’ll finish the second piece and fire tonight.
Cheers!

I do NOT like to camp. I’m a “Girly Girl’. Well, the past few days, I feel like I’ve been camping. We lost our air conditioning and it is beastly HOT. However, I always attempt to find ‘life lessons’ in every experience. This one has taught me (1) be grateful for air conditioning; (2) ice is a wonderful thing; (3) electric fans are a gift; (4) cool showers are a good thing.
No painting until the air conditioning gets fixed!
May you be cool!

Wow – what a couple of weeks! It’s so nice to be home, unpack and relax a bit. The seminar with Phyllis was so wonderful! Everyone learned a LOT. We painted currants on a pitcher. I don’t usually paint this sort of thing, so it was a true challenge, but managed to bring home a piece I’m proud of – in spite of Tuesday’s “equipment malfunction” – HA!

Me with Phylliz McElhinney
Here is a picture of me and Phyllis – she is holding a pitcher she painted. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Greetings! Today is the last day of the seminar I’m taking with Phyllis McElhinney. It has been such a great time – in spite of a disaster yesterday. Right before lunch, after working all morning on my piece, my brush cleaner jar slipped out of my hand. I splashed brush cleaner all over my palette, on my clothes – and on the pitcher I was painting! I’ve never seen paint so effectively and efficiently disappear in such short order! AUGH!
What surprised me was I wasn’t upset about it at all. I cleaned off my palette, wiped the brush cleaner off my piece, went to my room and changed in to the outfit I was going to wear today and went back to the seminar.
Everywhere I go, I learn ‘Life Lessons” – this gave me the opportunity to pause and reflect that “Stuff Happens”. My reaction was one of “oh well”…..and I saved expending a whole bunch of negative energy and, instead, laughed about the whole thing. I also turned this in to an opportunity – to go SHOP for a new shirt! I found one that’s spectacular – and even maintained my “Smart Shopper Status” – it was 60% off!
Cheers!
