Iowa State Fair
I was pleased to find out my portrait of a little indian girl received first place in the ‘Portrait” category at the Iowa State Fair! My entry in the “Jewelry or Miniature” received second place.
The ladies did a great job displaying all the entries. Everything was so well done. I know how much work goes into planning and staffing events like these and appreciate all the time and efforts the organizers put into such an event.
Illinois State Fair
My dear friend, Beverly Miller, and I demonstrated at the Illinois State Fair yesterday. The guild members from Springfield worked hard to promote our porcelain painting art form and did a magnificent job of putting together a fabulous display. Kudos to Ura Bono and her team who made this happen! We were located in the lovely Artisan Building. It was fun to talk to people as they came through the display area. Hopefully we sparked some interest in the crowds for them to investigate our art form further.
Cheers!
It’s Been Awhile…..
I can’t believe how this summer has flown by! The past several weeks have been a whirl-wind. An update: I won First place, Best in Class and Best in Show at the Mississippi Valley Fair for “Natasha” and recieved second place for “Inseparable”. I was floored!
I installed my exhibit at Centre Station in Moline, IL as part of the MidCoast Fine Arts Exhibit schedule. It will be on display through the end of September.
I am in the process of preparing to demonstrate at the Illinois State Fair, then will host a private seminar in my home studio the first week in September. I’m also painting many pieces for entries in to some ‘art in miniature’ shows.
Last, but not least, I am putting the finishing touches on a soon-to-be-published book. Stay tuned…..
Cheers!
