About Kim

Kim McCool
Kim McCool is an Internationally Certified Porcelain Artist and Teacher living on a beautiful farm overlooking the Mississippi River. Her studio is part of her home where she teaches porcelain painting as well as designs and creates her own artwork.
In 1997 Kim started seriously studying porcelain art. She carefully improved her art techniques by becoming a student of renowned artists. Though she is trained in various techniques, Kim finds she is continually drawn back to painting portraits on porcelain.
The list of Kim’s achievements is impressive. She has been featured on Public Televisions’ “Creators” series as well as the video educational series for public schools entitled “Art with Mr. I”. Her porcelain art is featured in many private collections throughout the world. Kim’s miniature paintings have been shown in numerous art exhibits around the country, successfully competing with other forms of art.
“It’s a challenge,” she says. “A lot of the old techniques are in danger of being lost because they aren’t written down. Porcelain painting is a tradition steeped in exactness and discipline. It is through loving patience and a dedication to practice that I am able to create the intricate brush patterns, both historical and contemporary.”
I am impressed with your website, talent, and accomplishments.
