Five more days until the Sisterhood of Dreamers into Doers take Manhattan! The outpouring of donations, time and talents to the women and children of Safe Horizons has been – almost – unceasing. They will be so touched and surprised by the warmth and caring……I know I am!
I’m pulling together ideas for the 10 minute talk I will be giving at the shelter event. The words come straight from my heart. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone.

Well, The Sisterhood of Dreamers into Doers are only nine days away from meeting in NYC! I can’t tell you how energizing it has been preparing for this adventure! I have met some incredible women over the web as we work to pull together the Shelter Event. I have seen some of the items that were made for the women at the shelter. It’s been overwhelming - the caring and giving hearts of each and every entrepreneur is indescribable!
Being a part of this Sisterhood has been a life-changing experience for me. Knowing how we will touch so many lives – and make a difference – is inspirational and meaningful. I will make every effort to continue this journey when I return from NYC. That is to say, find other ways to reach out and make a positive difference in this world.
Think about this: How can you make a positive impact in this world?

I am very blessed. These past few days have put me in touch with people who are or have gone through some emotional, difficult times. Each one has a story that has moved me to tears. As I listened or read about their situations, I wanted to reach out and comfort them. But how?
Then the answer came to me – by utilizing my talents, the gifts I’ve been given.
Think about this: how can you lighten some one’s burden, how can you reach out and make a difference in some one’s life? What can you do to help someone?
Remember this: You reap what you sow. Give unselfishly. You will be repaid beyond your comprehension.

How many of you have heard the Martina McBride song “This One’s for the Girls”? There is a line that speaks to women in their 40s “tossing pennies into the Fountain of Youth…Every laugh, laugh line on your face made you who you are today”.
Regardless of what age you are, be proud of who you are! I have laugh lines and I don’t want to get rid of them. In my mind, laugh lines are badges of honor. They show character, how far you’ve come in your life.
Today, celebrate your laugh lines. As I write this, memories are flooding in of the many times I’ve laughed with my family and friends. My very best friend teases me to this day because I blurted out what I was giving her for Christmas days before we exchanged gifts. Our smallest dog does something every day that brings a smile. Our other two dogs aren’t far behind.
So take some time - stop and think about some of the moments in your life that have contributed to your laugh lines and CELEBRATE!

This morning I heard someone say “If wishes were fishes, they’d all swim away.” Now THAT’S profound!
Seriously, how many times have we wished for something, knowing the wishes were not even remotely going to be fulfilled. Like “I wish I had a billion dollars.” or “I wish I looked the way I did 20 years ago.” These are most likely not going to happen.
What if you changed your thinking? Let’s think about goal setting. Goals should be (1) positive; (2) realistic; (3) measureable; (4) fit into your life style. It’s the new year. What are your goals for 2010? I’ll share one of mine:
“I will do a 20 minute Pilates workout three days a week.”
Your turn! I’d love to hear from you about what you will work toward achieving in 2010. If you share your goals with me, I will not share them with anyone.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

As 2009 draws to a close, I challenge you to think back on all your achievements this past year. Write them down – call it your “You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby” list. Big or small, there are things you have done you should be proud of. Acknowledge them and CELEBRATE!
Stumped on what to write? Ask a loved one or someone you trust what they think you’ve accomplished. I think you will pleasantly surprised.
Remember to celebrate YOU.

Christmas Eve is a special time for us. We attend mass this evening and then have a quiet dinner. It’s nice. The quiet time we spend is a welcome relief from the busy-ness we seem to engulf ourselves in every year. We rush around to get things done and then – POOF! – the day has come and gone. Every year I proclaim “I will never do this again!” And every year I do the same thing. This year, I must admit, it wasn’t as hectic as usual, so maybe I’m easing in to the season better than in years gone by.
I hope you will be able to take some quiet time to pause and reflect.
I wish you a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
